Serbia is the fifth country in the number of asylum applications in EU

BRUSSELS – According to a recent report of European Commission, citizens of Serbia had been ranked fifth for the number of asylum seekers in the European Union, for the last year.
Almost 14 000 citizens of Serbia were seeking asylum in an EU country during 2011, according to the report on migration and asylum seekers, which was unveiled yesterday by Commissioner for internal affairs, Cecilia Malmsterm.
