The first refugee received permanent residence in Serbia

Belgrade, March 29, 2024 – Today the first refugee received permanent residence in Serbia! The decision itself is dated February 19, 2024. Our legal and integration team helped Ayman from Pakistan to request/obtain asylum and now obtain permanent residence, and after the legislative changes that came into force on February 1, 2024.

Our executive director Jovana Vinčić handed Ayman the decision on permanent residence.

We are very proud of this fact. This is a great progress for the position of persons who have received asylum in Serbia and who no longer have a temporary, but permanent residence in Serbia.

This is a big step for Serbian institutions as well as the Serbian asylum system!
