The APC organization has been supporting asylum seekers and refugees with integration since the first asylums were granted in Serbia in 2011. Since then, APC has been providing legal support, support with finding accommodation, support with accessing labour market, finding and keeping employment, support with social inclusion in local communities, support with language and local customs learning, as well as providing them support in building their social circle relying on APC members’ and volunteers’ social capital in local communities.
Significant and desirable part of the integration process is a self-employment, when refugees are ready and have skills and capacities to start working on their own and reach personal financial sustainability, paying taxes and contributions themselves to Serbian authorities.
Moreover, since the War in Ukraine started, this has included refugees from Ukraine, whom our organization has been aiding.
One of our beneficiaries is Roman. He has been living in Serbia since last year and has already learned the language very well. The APC organization helped him to obtain all the necessary documents and regulate his status in Serbia.
Now Roman, a business analyst by profession, wanted to open and register his own company. Our team from the Belgrade office helped him to successfully register, to receive an electronic certificate and helped him with finance and accounting training in order to start proper functioning of his business. Moreover, Roman is very grateful, because for him this is an important step to enable him his to earn for living and proceed with integration.
The APC organization continues to provide assistance and support to all refugees and to facilitate their sustainable integration that is of great importance for building their life and perspectives in the Serbia.

Danas, vlasti Srbije izdale su prvi srpski pasoš

Danas, vlasti Srbije izdale su prvi srpski pasoš izbeglici koja je još kao maloletnik bez roditelja došao 2018. godine u Srbiju, bežeći zbog opasnosti po život iz Avgansitana, te dobio azil u Srbiji 2019. godine.
Uz pravnu pomoć Centra za zaštitu i pomoć tražiocima azila Hari je kao dečak tražio i dobio azil, a sada, nakon više od 6 godina i dobio prvi srpski pasoš za izbeglice!
Direktorka Jovana Vinčić je Hariju isti pasoš predala po preuzimanju od Ministarstva unutrašnjih poslova Srbije.

Srpski pasoši za izbeglice su plave boje, u drugom pogledu se na prvi pogled ne razlikuju od pasoša za srpske građane. Izbeglički pasoš kao putna isprava međutim ne podrazumeva i srpsko državljanstvo, već se licima kojima je Srbija dala utočište tj. pružila im svoju zaštitu i boravak na našoj teritoriji, omogućava da putuju van Srbije ako za to postoji potreba.

Hari koji je danas dobio pasoš za izbeglice uveliko govori srpski jezik i ni po čemu se ne razlikuje od drugih domaćih građana jer je još kao maloletnik došao i dobio azil u Srbiji, te je bio i štićenik sistema socijalne zaštite i srpskih ustanova za smeštaj maloletnika bez pratnje roditelja.
Centar za zaštitu i pomoć tražiocima azila mu je pomogao pored traženja i dobijanja azila i pasoša i u psihosocijalnom osnaživanju i zapošljavanju i kontinuirano mu pomaže u procesu potpune integracije u naše društvo.

Srbijo #dodeliazil izbeglim licima iz #Ukrajina-e koja borave u našoj zemlji i koja su imala #privremenazaštita-u. S obzirom da po srpskom zakonu posle 2 godine privremene zaštite istu nije moguće produžiti, #izbeglice-ama treba dati pravi, a ne privremeni #boravak i #zaštitu, jer nema izgleda da se #rat u Ukrajini uskoro završi, a njihov život duži od dve godine u Srbiji se ne može smatrati privremenim.
Život ne može da čeka, niti da bude privremen!
Zato Srbijo dodeli boravak i zaštitu onima koji u Srbiji već borave i žive od kad je rata počeo u Ukrajini, tj. već više od dve godine!
Time bi se dao primer drugim zemljama Evrope i sveta kako se položaj i zaštita izbeglica iz Ukrajine može humano i pravno urediti.

Juče su vlasti Srbije izdale prvu biometrijsku li

Juče su vlasti Srbije izdale prvu biometrijsku ličnu kartu za lica koja su dobila azil sa umetnutim stalnim prebivalištem posle 16 godina od nastanka azilnog sistema u Srbiji! Predali smo ličnu kartu našem korisniku.

Do sada lica koja su dobila azil su imala kartonske lične karte koje su se razlikovale od srpskih biometrijskih ličnih karata, što je u praksi kod institucija dovodilo do nedoumica da li se zaista radi o pravim ličnim kartama za izbeglice ili ne.
Mi smo na terenu to prevazilazili konkretnim pravnim intervencijama u svakom posebnom slučaju ali i gradili prakse u radu sa mnogo konkretnih institucija i njihovih lokalnih odeljenja kao i sa mnogo pružalaca javnih usluga na koje smo nailazili u našem radu sa našim korisnicima.
Konačno, lica kojima je odobren azil mogu da imaju ličnu kartu kao srpski građani i izbegnu diskriminaciju ostvarivanju svojih zagarantovanih prava.
Što se tiče pak lica koja nisu dobila azil već su tražioci azila. Mi dalje nastavljamo borbu da i oni dobiju biometrisjke lične karte umesto kartonski plastificiranih ličnih karata koje trenutno imaju.

Danas prva #izbeglica dobila stalni #boravak u #Srbija! Samo rešenje je datirano na 19.02.2024. Naš #pravni i #integracija-ski tim su pomogli Ajmanu iz Pakistana da zatraži/dobije #azil i sada ostvari #stalniboravak, a posle zakonskih izmena koje su nastupile od 01.02.2024! Naša izvršna direktorka Jovana Vinčić je Ajmanu predala rešenje o stalnom nastanjenju.

Veoma smo ponosni na ovu činjenicu. Ovo je veliki napredak za položaj lica koja su dobila azil u Srbiji i koja više nemaju privremeni već trajni boravak u Srbiji.

Ovo je veliki korak i za srpske institucije i srpski sistem azila!

Today, the first #refugee received #permanentresidence in #Serbia! Though the decision itself is dated on February 19, 2024. Our #legal & #integration team helped Ayman (Pakistan) to request/get #asylum & obtain permanent #residence after legislative changes that came in force on 01.02.2024!
Our Executive director Jovana Vincic has delivered the decision on permanent residence to Ajman.

We are very proud of this fact.This is a great breakthrough for persons granted #asylum in #Serbia that no longer need to have temporary but are entitled to permanent residence in Serbia.

It is a big step forward for #Serbian #institutions and #asylum system!

Today, at local “Dituria”, local ngo in Bujano

Today, at local “Dituria”, local ngo in Bujanovac, we held our second workshop with 9 local children. Last week, we introduced our organization and our mission, while children were thrilled to not only participate but to meet refugees in our community.

Our focus today was on initiating connections through the simple but profound act of letter writing to their refugee peers in order to motivate children to understand the importance of empathy towards refugees and to extend gestures of friendship. Children poured their thoughts and feelings in writting and in drawings within letters addressed to refugee children they hadn’t met yet.

As the children wrote their messages, there was a sense of excitement and anticipation in the air. They were eager to share their stories, express their support, and build bridges with their peers who have experienced displacement and adversity.

After the letters were written, the children were talking about these letters that will be sent to the refugee children accommodated in the local refugee camp, with hopes of sparking a meaningful exchange and, perhaps, paving the way for future meetings.

Today’s workshop wasn’t just about letter writing; it was about nurturing compassion, initiate connections, and laying the foundation for a more inclusive and tolerant community.

Ovoga puta, naš korisnik usluga Aboud iz Sudana r

Ovoga puta, naš korisnik usluga Aboud iz Sudana razgovara sa pravnim timom u našoj beogradskoj kancelariji. Uz pomoć pravnog tima APC-a njemu je odobren azil u Srbiji pre nekoliko godina. Dok se uz podršku APC socijalno-integracijskog tima, Aboud veoma uspešno integrisao u lokalnu sredinu. Aboud je trenutno zaposlen kao glavni kuvar u jednom restoranu u Beogradu. U međuvremenu, naučio je srpski jezik, oženio se ima trogodišnju ćerku Miriam.
Nakon prošlogodišnjih promena u srpskoj pravnoj regulativi, Aboud ima mogućnosti da aplicira za stalni boravak u našoj zemlji. Stoga, naši pravnici mu pomažu tokom čitave procedure, prilikom pribavljanja dokumentacije, popunjavanja neophodnih formulara, saradnje sa Upravom granične policije. Tri godine od dobijanja stalnog boravka, Aboud će moći da aplicira za srpsko državljanstvo i konačno razreši sve svoje lične strahove i nesigurnost u pogledu ostanka.

This time, our beneficiary Aboud from Sudan is speaking with the legal team in our Belgrade office. With APC legal support he has been granted asylum in Serbia few years ago. With APC socio-integration support he managed to integrate with great success in local community. Meanwhile, he learned Serbian language, married and has a three-year-old daughter Miriam. At the moment Aboud is employed as a chef in a restaurant in Belgrade.
After the last-year changes in Serbian legislation Aboud is entitled to apply for permanent residence in the country. Therefore, our lawyers are helping him in the entire procedure, when obtaining documentation, fulfilling necessary forms, cooperating with border police authorities. After 3 years from obtaining permanent residence Aboud will be entitled to apply for Serbian citizenship and finally resolve any personal fears or uncertainty.
The APC organization stays dedicated to providing assistance to all refugees in Serbia, for whom our professional support is more than precious.

Ove godine Srbija po važećem zakonu ne može da produži privremenu zaštitu za izbegle iz Ukrajine, niti može da prati primer EU u kojoj privremena zaštita za izbegle iz Ukrajine traje do 2025. Zato je potrebno da Srbija dodeli azil izbeglima iz Ukrajine, a koji u Srbiji borave i na taj način sama napravi prodor i da primer drugim državama u odnosu prema izbeglicama iz Ukrajine!

This year, Serbia cannot extend temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine according to existing legislation, nor can it follow the example of the EU in which temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine lasts until 2025. That is why it is necessary for Serbia to grant asylum to refugees from Ukraine who reside in Serbia and in this way make a breakthrough and set an example for other countries in their attitude towards refugees from Ukraine!

In addition to providing various legal, psychosoci

In addition to providing various legal, psychosocial and integration services to migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and temporary protected persons from Ukraine in Serbia, APC has been developing local social entrepreneurship, thus providing vocational trainings and prospects for employment to refugees within its social bakery. The APC social bakery, which also employs refugees in its work, is offering training in food production, in selling, in managing production processes and in work with customers to exiles. In that regard, Natasha, a young refugee from Ukraine, is currently undergoing the training process with a few of its refugee peers. She has joined our enterprise quite recently and is thrilled and very optimistic about the engagement. By participating in the social endeavor, socializing with local staff and customers, refugees are getting the opportunity to improve their social and communication skills, to learn Serbian language and to gain valuable local living experience as well. With each news day APC bakery proves to be an excellent way to support refugees in building their prospects for a new and normal life in Serbia.
